The Lord’s Day – 01/18/2009
41 min | Colossians 1:23

Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Comment: Mr. Potts expounds upon the need, and desire, of the Christian to be steadfast, grounded, and built-up in the Truth by the grace of God. He speaks on our natural inability and need, and (as he always does, thank God,) He points us to the Lord Jesus Christ who will Himself (through His Spirit) keep us, and ground us, and build us up in Him. Yet he warns off those who turn back, who turn aside, not being grounded in the Lord; those who would seek to corrupt the Gospel of free and sovereign grace and who would seek to corrupt others as well. This is yet another needful and God-glorifying sermon by Mr. Potts.
