The Jezebelian Error: God’s View of Female Pastors/Preachers/Teachers of Men

GOD’S VIEW OF FEMALE PASTORS/PREACHERS/TEACHERS OF MEN
I’ve posted something similar on this as well, and yet, it too keeps coming up. So I will post the below with the fervent reminder that if anyone says that their church has a female pastor, they need to be reminded that they have neither a church nor a pastor. It really is that simple, at least in the biblical/spiritual sense.

(1) 1 Corinthians 14:34-38 “LET YOUR WOMEN KEEP SILENCE [sigaō; hold one’s peace, keep silent, be quiet] IN THE CHURCHES [notice that it is churches…plural, as in all of them, even today, not just in Corinth, and not just in Ephesus]: for IT IS NOT PERMITTED UNTO THEM TO SPEAK; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, AS ALSO SAITH THE LAW [the law of God says they are not to speak, not local custom, not local rules, not certain scenarios and circumstances, not the supposed chauvinism of men, but the very law of God itself]. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands [anēr, literally translated as both men and husbands; so it can include fathers, brothers, male cousins, uncles, etc., as well] AT HOME: FOR ****IT IS A SHAME*** [aischros; G150; DISGRACEFUL, VILE, BASE, FILTHY] FOR WOMEN TO SPEAK IN THE CHURCH. 36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD [the Lord is commanding this, not men, not chauvinists, but God Himself has commanded that women remain silent, abstaining from teaching, in the churches, plural, all churches]. 38 But if any man be ignorant [agnoeō; literally not knowing; ignorant; ignoring — as in willfully ignoring the truth], let him be ignorant [agnoeō; not known; ignored; ignorant].”

NOTE: Basically, that last verse is teaching that if someone wants to ignore that this rule applies to all churches; if they want to deny that the law of God affirms the prohibition; if they want to deny that women keeping silence in the churches is a command of the Lord; if they wish to be so willfully ignorant of the truth of this matter, then (a) let them be/remain ignorant BUT ALSO (b) let them be ignored, not known, avoided, rejected (as hereticks, especially after the first and second admonition per Titus 3:9-11].

(2) 1 Timothy 2:11-14 “Let the woman learn IN SILENCE [hēsychia; silence, quietness] with all subjection. 12 But I SUFFER NOT [οὐκ epitrepō; ALLOW NOT, GIVE NO LEAVE TO, PERMIT NOT, COMMIT NOT, AUTHORISE NOT, LET NOT] A WOMAN TO TEACH, NOR TO USURP AUTHORITY OVER THE MAN, ***BUT TO BE IN SILENCE.*** 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

NOTE: This isn’t a local church rule (specific to problems in the Corinthian and Ephesian churches only) but a universal rule, for all of the churches, traced all the way back to Adam and Eve, to clear principles associated with the transgression and fall, and with the God-ordained order and roles that the Lord, Himself, has sovereignly chosen to institute — as rightly understood by the vast, vast majority of churches, over the past (nearly) 2,000 years, all up until these modern/leftist/liberal/so-called “progressive” times.

(3) Revelation 2:20 “Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because THOU SUFFEREST [eaō; LET, PERMIT, ALLOW, FAIL TO RESTRAIN OR FORBID] THAT WOMAN Jezebel, WHICH CALLETH HERSELF A PROPHETESS [A PREACHER], TO TEACH and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.”

NOTE: that the sin is that she is allowed to BOTH teach AND to seduce… Notice also the parallel between 1 Timothy 2:11-12 and Revelation 2:20. One expresses the command “But I suffer not a woman to teach” and the other reprimands because of the violation of it “…because thou sufferest that woman… to teach…” Clearly, the same problem, the same heresy is in view in both passages. Moreover, we see both the Apostle Paul and the Apostle John speaking, by the Holy Spirit, the same truth concerning the matter. We should heed the warnings God has given us.
