Beware!

Beware!

We live in a very dark time indeed; a time where false christs and false prophets abound. Many are deceived, most often by their inability to truly distinguish between Sacramentalism, Semi-Pelagianism and Arminianism on the one hand and true Christianity on the other. We have a growing number of false pastors and “bible teachers” who claim to uphold the Gospel, speaking eloquently about free and sovereign grace (imputed righteousness, election and predestination, and related essential doctrines), but who effectually deny these Gospel truths by spiritually embracing those who reject them. They speak peace, peace where there is no peace and bid God speed to those who do not abide in the Doctrine of Christ — thus, they are revealed to be partakers of their evil deeds.

To one degree or another, we can find such error amongst those who call themselves Reformed, Calvinists, Predestinarians, Orthodox or Free Presbyterians, Sovereign Grace Baptists, Strict and Particular Baptists, Reformed Baptists, etc. The Bible says “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” I fear that those who would undermine the Gospel by committing spiritual adultery with Romanists, Arminians, and the like, are the chiefest amongst the “false prophets” that God warns us about. Good words are not enough… we must ask the question: “do they back up their words by refusing to fellowship spiritually with, or count as brethren, those who deny the Gospel of free and sovereign grace?” If they do not, then they are hirelings and it is in your spiritual best interests to depart from them immediately. God commands all of us to “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Revelation 18:5).

Consider your own pastor; does he see the Arminian “gospel” for what it is — a false, and desperately wicked gospel? One which is no Gospel at all? Or does he embrace Arminians and excuse their errors as merely a weaker, less-knowledgeable form of the true Gospel? If the latter, then he is as one who bids God speed to them and is a partaker in their evil deeds (evidencing the fact that he is just as ignorant of God and Truth as they are). As God enables, pray for him and those who follow him, witness the truth to them, but do not sit under such a “ministry;” do not remain in such a church. We ignore the command to “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins” at our own spiritual peril.

Will you obey God and depart from such an assembly (seeking a faithful one instead)
or will you remain therein and perish?
